Club Coordinator / Head of Officials George Barendregt’s first love has always been the beautiful game—soccer. A lifelong player, coach, and official, George has dedicated decades to growing the sport at the grassroots level. He has coached and officiated with the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association, spent nine years with Edmonton’s Family Friendly Soccer League, and served three years as President of the Men’s Christian Soccer Association. Beyond soccer, George has also given his time to youth flag football as the Director of Officials with the AFS Flag Football League. Wherever he’s involved, George is known for his leadership, positive energy, and commitment to creating fun, inclusive, and welcoming programs for kids. As the Club Coordinator for our MLS GO program—a national grassroots initiative in partnership with Major League Soccer—George brings a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for sport. He is dedicated to helping young players build confidence, stay active, and develop a lasting love for the game in a supportive environment. And yes—it’s true: George is the proud father of ten. So when it comes to managing a league full of energetic kids? He’s more than prepared. |
